CHANTAL NASON

COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
in Basingstoke and Winchester, Hampshire
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty”

You've taken the first step

Whatever reason that brings you to this page, if nothing else, please take away the possibility that there is help out there. Well done for taking this first step. Counselling can help you to make sense of your life, find acceptance, meaning and purpose; and help you to create a more fulfilling, joyful life. Counselling is a space where you can tell your story, where you can talk, engage in creative activities or simply sit with someone who is there for you.

About Me

I am a warm individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills developed over a number of years of working with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and age groups. Having spent many years working as a City IT professional and first-hand experience of parenting, I believe I bring a rich and diverse range of personal experience to my practice.

I offer counselling to adults and young persons 16 years + and my areas of interest and experience include:

  • anxiety and depression

  • bereavement and loss

  • relationship issues

  • family dynamics

  • separation and divorce

  • work and career

  • abuse

  • sexuality and gender

  • identity, race, culture, and ethnicity

  • body image and disordered eating

My Approach

The counselling relationship is one built on mutual respect and collaboration as we work together to unpick what might be troubling you. Therapy can give you the space to organise your thoughts and make better sense of the situation. My focus is centred on you as the client, and I will draw on a range of theoretical and practical training in a way that is most supportive to you and your issues. I am not there to just simply listen; I see the work as a collaboration between the two of us. I will, very much, be a part of the process with you and I am willing to say what I am seeing. You may begin to see patterns of responding which are no longer helpful and with this increase in self-awareness my aim is to support you in making any changes necessary to help restore your wellbeing.
